Rockstars are the best of the best!

Rockstars are consistent, they do what they say.

Rockstars don’t make excuses, or complain, they instead problem-solve and operate at a higher level than most average people around them.

Rockstars have fun, meet new people, push themselves in new ways, try new things. Rockstars are happy because they work hard and love what they do. Is that you?

WHAT IS A ROCKSTAR?

What it a Rockstar?

C.A.R.E. VALUES

We want people to be passionate about coming to work, and to C.A.R.E. If someone really cares we will see it in their attitude and actions.

How many times have you worked with people or felt yourself, “I JUST DON’T CARE ANYMORE”.

We strongly believe that 1 Great Person = 3 Average People.

C.A.R.E. Values

CONNECTION

The level of affinity held by an individual toward someone or something.

When you get along with someone very well, you have an infinity with them.

When you are attracted to someone or something a great deal, we say that you have an affinity, a natural connection.

AFFIRMATION

Genuine and heartfelt expressions of support, value, encouragement, and appreciation resonate at an emotional level.

This is much different from recognition.

RESPONSIBILITY

Personal ownership and accountability for a task, project, decision, or outcome.

People care more when they own something!

ENVIRONMENT

The factors that create the context for engagement in the workplace. Knowledge, skills, tools, resources both physical and psychological.

Create the space that makes people want to come to work.

This includes speaking up without recourse, we want to hear from you, good or bad. If you see something wrong, we need to know. If you have a good idea, it can’t be acted on if you keep it to yourself.

PTO starts accruing after 90 days of employment. Work 40 hours, then start getting free time (up to 40 hours)!

PTO can be used at your discretion but must be used up by the end of the year each year.

Discounts!

Yay! All team members can get a 50% discount at ALL TIMES! Right, whether you’re clocked in or not! Now remember, this discount is for you only- not your mom or dad or friends, but still pretty awesome!

Exceptions:

Retail bagged coffee, retail merchandise, energy drinks and bottled beverages.

These are very high cost items and we would be taking a loss and that just wouldn’t be right.

We intend to work together as a Team to create additional rewards along the way.

BEING HERE NOW,
and WHEN YOU CAN'T

Being Here Now, and When you Can't

Be here on time when you’re supposed to be. Our team needs you and we can’t get stuff done when you’re not here. If you can’t be here, call your manager and figure out how to get your shift covered. For more detailed stuff, click here.

Consistent punctual attendance is a major separator that elevates you into Rockstar status which includes additional compensation.

Breaks will be given at the manager’s discretion.

We don’t make you clock out for breaks, so you just need to stay on the property

Break Schedule.jpg

Once and a while. You just can't get here.

WE GET IT!

You can ask for time off by clicking here (Link to intranet ‘request for time off’ page). Make sure you give us enough notice so we can help you get that time off.

Also note that not every request might be granted. Lots of other things are affected by taking time off.

Time Off.jpg

Definitions of Schedule Codes:

REQ = This means you requested time off, through our portal or other.

OFF =  It means off, leadership when scheduling chose this day to give you off.

REQ* = This means permanent day off, until the end of time or until you tell us otherwise.

We will post our schedule on Thursdays within our company site.

You can access that site by clicking here (Link to intranet ‘schedule’ page).

You should, in the event that you have a question, problem or other, talk, email, text, smoke signal or carrier pigeon whatever you think is the best way to solve the issue. You can talk to your manager first, then your manager’s manager, you can talk to the trainer, then go directly to the owner’s, you can talk to anyone without anyone else’s permission. Moreover, you should consider yourself obligated to do so until the right thing happens.

Some extra definitions and lessons to live by.

Text Message is used for quick type messages, “I am on my way”, “I will be right there”

If your text message takes 5 minutes to type and when sent is 5 inches long, this now needs to be a phone call. Our thumbs don’t need that much exercise.

HOW WE ROLL

How We Roll

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM EACH OTHER

Don’t be a jerk. Be honest, make good decisions and be nice to each other. If you would like some more specific ways to conduct yourself at HD Derry, LLC, have a look here.

Code of Conduct.jpg

We give everyone who joins our team a lot of trust and responsibility. We operate with the assumption that everyone will do the right thing, including you. The truth is, some people may violate this trust or ignore their responsibilities. We won’t change our approach because of a few who might let us down. Instead, we will help you do some career planning, but it's not going to be at HD Derry.

We want to believe in you. Show us the best you can be.

Trust.jpg

Here’s how we’re going to dress ourselves (and wearing appropriate clothing without rips/tears, etc. should go without saying):

  1. All crew is required to provide their own non-slip shoes. We will allow two weeks after employment starts to make this purchase.

  2. Team Members: Wear your own jeans. We’ll provide you with a logo’d t-shirt and visor.

  3. Rockstars: Wear your own jeans. We’ll provide you with an embroidered logo’d shirt and visor.

  4. Leadership Members: Wear your own khaki pants. We’ll provide you with an embroidered black shirt and visor.

Dress Code.jpg

It’s simple… we have a zero-tolerance policy for using tobacco, vaping, alcohol, or drug products on our premises and/or while working.

Period.

End of discussion.

No Alchohol Drugs Other.jpg

Safety is really important to us. We want you to go home everyday in the same condition you arrived. Examples of Safety include:

-  Being safety conscious at all times.
-  Keeping work areas clean and walkways free of obstructions, especially in retail & production areas.

-  If you see a wet floor, mop it up!
-  Don’t perform a job if you feel it’s unsafe
-  Communicate to leadership if you see a safety issue.

For additional safety tips, we recommend clicking here to learn more.

Obviously, this is also a zero-tolerance policy for us.

You will not give away free products; use discounts improperly; use credit cards (and guest info.) improperly; steal money or product, etc.

If you worked in a bank do you think it would be OK to take money?
